Monday nights in Sausalito, dinner and live music with Billy Dunn and his house band at the Sausalito Cruising Club from 6-10 pm.  Billy Dunn used to play at the monthly Next Generation dances.  The Sausalito Cruising Club is a unique venue (think funky and/or eclectic).  The band plays in the front room where there is a small wood dance floor in addition to tables for listening.  The back room has a full bar, TV’s for Monday night football and a fireplace burning.  The music varies including blues suitable for west coast swing, east coast swing, night club 2 step and others.  As this is not a west coast swing dance venue, best to bring a dance partner with you.  Buffet dinner and music $15.  Details and directions at www.billydunnbluesjam.com .  Located on the water off Bridgeway at Napa Street in Sausalito.  Please note that since this is a private club, they have to restrict access to members and guests.  Their procedures have tightened.  I am a member.  If you let me know that you will be there, I will leave your name at the entrance so they know I am expecting you, provided I plan to be there that night.  There are additional dancers that have also become members that also may be willing to sponsor guests when they are there.  No guest will be admitted unless their name is on the guest list in advance.  All guests still pay their own entrance fee.  Dinner runs from approx 6pm-8:30pm.  Jam session with guest musicians usually starts around 8pm.  Reduced admission after dinner is cleared around 9 pm for $5.

Please consider joining either of the two local Bay Area Swing Dance Clubs – Next Generation in San Francisco or Redwood Empire in Sonoma County.  Annual membership at either club is a modest amount.  Both clubs have informative websites and send out monthly newsletters with useful information re swing dancing in the Bay Area and the competitions across the country.  You can contact them via their websites (www.nextgenswingdance.com  or www.resdc.org) or join at one of their monthly dances mentioned above.  If we want to have the resources available to us, we need to support the organizations that sponsor them.

Happy dancing!!
