Saturday night, July 25, will be the Redwood Empire Monthly Swing Dance at Odd Fellows Hall at 545 Pacific Avenue in Santa Rosa.  Included at the dance is a free beginner lesson from 7:00-8:00 pm with Tatianna Bourget and Nick Jay.  Dance also starts at 7:00 pm and continues to 11 pm with DJ Rachel Baumgardner.   For information, please go to www.resdc.org  or call (707) 762-8928.

Sunday, July 26,  is Lakeside Swing at the Veterans Hall at Lake Merritt in Oakland .  Please look for it in its regular spot as the fourth Sunday of the month from 7-10:30 pm going forward!   There will be an intermediate hustle dance lesson from 6-7pm with Keith Gussoni.  DJ Mike Pyle then presents a great mix of swing, hustle and more for general dancing. Friday, July 31, Bay West Ballroom presents an evening of west coast swing with U.S. Swing Champion, Kelly Casanova. Kelly will teach the cool stylings and combinations which make her one of the iconic personalities in the modern swing scene at a workshop from 8-9pm.  There will be an all west coast swing dance from 9pm – 11pm.  This venue has a great sprung wood floor.  Bay West Ballroom is located at 1133 E. Saturday night, August 1 is the Next Generation Swing Dance Club monthly dance at Allegro Ballroom in Emeryville.  Dance starts at 6:00pm with DJ Mike Pyle. Saturday night, August 15, is Mt Tam Swing in Larkspur at the Mt Tam Racquet Club!  Beginning lesson by Kelly Casanova from 7:30-8:30 pm followed by open dancing to DJ Fred Loebenstein from 8:45 pm to 11:45.  This is an introductory lesson to West Coast Swing and a good opportunity for experienced dancers to learn the other side, whether as a leader or a follower.  Cash bar and munchies/hor doerves available.

August 29 and 30 is the  15th annual Bodega Seafood Art & Wine Festival in Bodega  at the Watts Ranch at 16855 Bodega Highway from 10 am - 6pm Saturday and 10am - 5pm Sunday.  Janet Ciel, a WCS dancer is the organizer and has music for WCS dancers.  There will be a large shaded (for the first time this year!!) dance floor, and a wonderful festival benefitting State Parks in our area.
