Saturday night, December 3 is the Next Generation Swing Dance Club monthly dance at Allegro Ballroom in Emeryville.   Next Gen Dance starts at 6:00pm with Mike Pyle as DJ. There is a beginning WCS lesson from 7pm -8pm with Kurt Senser in the back room.   There will be a Luck of the Draw contest.  Please note that Next Generation gets to stay in the main ballroom for the entire evening from 6pm until late!  It helps Next Gen if you arrive before 9pm.  BRING YOUR CLUB CARD! Saturday, December 10,  will be the December Redwood Empire Monthly Swing Dance at Ellington Hall  in Santa Rosa.  Get in the mood with a special holiday dance! Sunday, December 11 is Michelle Kinkaid’s “Second Sunday” Monthly Swing Dance  at the Imperial Dance Club in Redwood City from 6-10pm.   This Holiday dance features a lesson with Champion dancer Angel Figueroa starting at 6pm.  The DJ music mix is primarily west coast swing and also contains some hustle, night club two step, country two step, waltz, and latin.  Michelle Kinkaid is the DJ.  Refreshments included. Door prizes too!  Holiday attire suggested but not required! Friday, December 16, Bay West Ballroom in San Rafael presents a WCS Dance Social!  Bay West Directors, Mark & Andrea Novak teach a West Coast Swing Class for all levels from 8-9 pm.  Working from Basic Combinations and then embellishing for more experienced dancers to stay challenged.  Dance immediately following the lesson will feature lots of west coast swing, balanced with Latin and Ballroom.  This venue has a great sprung wood floor.  Bay West Ballroom is located at 1133 E. Monday, December 19, National Champion, Melissa Rutz has her Holiday Party and monthly West Coast Swing Lesson and Dance Party at The Dance Loft, 2475 3rd Street near 22nd Street, Suite #311, San Francisco, CA  94107, 415-846-3154.  There will be a Jack and Jill contest and Pot Luck.  There will be two classes.  Beginning WCS from 7-7:45pm and Intermediate WCS from 7:45-8:30 pm. Dance Party 8:30-11:30pm.  Cost (cash only) $20 for two classes including the dance. $15 for one class, $10 Dance Only.  Please be aware that since the dance is at a city loft, the front door of the building will be locked.  So you’ll have to knock at the door and someone will let you in and guide you upstairs to the loft. Saturday, December 31, Bay West Ballroom presents its New Years Eve-West Coast Swing and Ballroom Dance Party. Shantala Davis will teach a West Coast Swing Class for ALL Levels, from 8:30-9:30 pm, after which they will party down into the final minutes of 2011 and usher in 2012. Enjoy finger foods, beverages, and a champagne toast to the count down of the final seconds. Dance to their favorite cuts of Swing, Ballroom & Latin music, with a particular slant on Swing selections; from 9:30pm-1 am. At 10:30 pm, be entertained by select student-teacher spotlights.
